RIAA and MPAA: Copyright holders should be allowed to use pretexting

The RIAA and MPAA are lobbying once again against an anti-pretexting law in California that would make it illegal for anyone to lie in order to gain access to someone else's personal information. This time, the industries' want an amendment to the bill that would allow them to continue the practice for the purpose of catching pirates.
