Is Digg about to have a new leader?

As everyone knows Digitalgopher has been the longtime reigning champ of submitted stories made popular on Digg, todays morning count in fact being 1029, a staggering number that is the product of longtime dedication on his part since Oct of 2005.

Well, MrBabyMan, the guy who seems to submit interesting stories by the truckload each day, has finally caught up to Digitalgopher, with 1024 total stories made popular as of this morning, and who knows how many stories still "upcoming" just waiting to appear on the HP. The longtime gap has been narrowed to just 5.

I doubt the world will come to an end, I'm sure things will continue on just nicely but, considering how long Digitalgopher's been the reigning "submission champ," it adds an air of competitiveness that makes things a little more interesting I think.

I know I'll never get anywhere near 1024 but, at least now I can say there's a chance, that now another has done so.
