Man Who Uploaded Pre-Broadcast Episodes of "24" Pleads Guilty

Admitted that after uploading the episodes, he publicized it by providing links on sites like Digg.com.

They are really cracking down hard on "pirates" these days. None of this would be necessary if the major entertainment companies would have had a bit more foresight a few years ago.

Instead of investing so much money into stopping file-sharing, it would have been better to invest more into thinktanks focusing on altering their business models to adapt to the internet. There are many business ideas being utilized that allow for free music and movies to the users, while still generating enormous amounts of income. They really need to focus on switching to these types of models instead of trying to keep up with the latest peer-to-peer software.

If users had a choice of legal free music/movies vs. illegal free music/movies, I think we know which most would choose.
